Ongoing needs will determine monthly, quarterly or bi-annual refresh sessions.
We’re just a phone call away when you need us!
A Professional Organizer provides guidance, products and hands-on assistance to help individuals and businesses achieve their organizing goals. When you hire a Professional Organizer, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental approach that focuses on reducing stress, improving efficiency and creating a more functional space. They actively listen to your needs, offer education and encouragement, and provide direction to tackle organizational challenges. Committed to professional excellence and adhering to Professional Organizers of Canada’s strict Code of Conduct & Ethics, they help you regain control and maximize productivity, whether through consulting or hands-on organizing services.

At Organized Solutions, all projects are guided by our 5-Step Organizing Process:
ASSESS
The first step to getting organized is to assess your needs, either by phone or in-person. During our first meeting, we will walk through your space, identify your specific challenges and develop a prioritized plan.
SORT
Working together, we will focus on one area, one item at a time and sort items into groups (keep, donate, sell, toss). By asking the right questions and providing suggestions, we will help you to make decisions.
STORE
We will help you to select and install functional storage solutions including shelving, tote bins and baskets. We’ll always work with what you have before purchasing extra supplies.
LABEL
Clear labelling is the key to easy storage and retrieval. We will select the type of label based on where the item is being stored.
MAINTAIN
Staying organized is a continuous journey, not a final destination. Regular maintenance sessions will keep your space in order and ensure that existing systems continue to meet your needs.
Yes, Professional Organizers declutter and clean while organizing by assisting you with sorting items, making decisions on what to keep or let go of, and creating functional systems to maintain an organized space. While it is often necessary to clean while we organize, we are not a cleaning service. For instance, when we organize a kitchen, we will clean inside each cupboard before reinstalling items. When we move furniture or empty a closet, we will clean underneath before putting things back in their place.
A cleaning service will come into your home or office and clean it from top to bottom. They simply clean items and put them back in place. They do not work with you to reduce clutter or create systems for you to keep it organized. Conversely, a Professional Organizer gets to the root of the clutter and disorganization issues and then creates a plan to help you put the processes and systems in place to keep your home or office organized. They teach you the skills to keep your home or office organized and tidy over the long term.
Yes, but working with hoarders requires specialized skills and the organizer you choose must have knowledge of these skills and the ability to help you manage the impact that your organizing work will have on you, your home and family. Although Organized Solutions does not have a specialty in this area, we can recommend organizers.
Cost & Value
Yes, but they may not be fully trained by the Professional Organizers of Canada (POC) or adhere to its Code of Conduct & Ethics. We always recommend using an organizer that is a member of POC to get the best possible experience. Organized Solutions has more than 25 years of experience in the professional organizing business and we know how to help you regain control over your clutter.
Yes, hiring a Professional Organizer is definitely worth it if you want to reduce stress, save time and create an efficient, clutter-free space. To get the best results, you should be open to letting go of clutter and underutilized possessions. A well-organized home or workspace not only looks better, but also feels more manageable and refreshing, helping you stay focused and in control.
The cost of a Professional Organizer varies based on years of experience, certifications and training, areas of expertise, location and project complexity. At Organized Solutions, we offer one-on-one organizing or a team approach, depending on your specific needs and the scope of your project. Our services are billed at an hourly rate, typically booked in half-day (4 hours), full-day (7 hours) or multi-day sessions. Our process begins with a free 30-minute virtual consultation (phone or video). For larger or time-sensitive projects, an in-person consultation with a written action plan may be required. While pricing is important when choosing a Professional Organizer, it should never be the sole criterion for making a final decision. Experience, expertise and a good fit are all important considerations.
Qualifications & Experience
Before hiring a Professional Organizer, ask about their areas of expertise, experience, training, and approach to organizing. Inquire about their pricing structure, whether they provide a written proposal or contract, if they are bonded and insured, and whether you’ll be working with them directly or with a team member.
Absolutely! Organized Solutions has an excellent reputation in the Hamilton-Burlington area, backed by 5-star Google reviews and testimonials from happy clients. Visit our Portfolio page for samples of our work and client feedback.
Every organizer on the team is an active member of Professional Organizers of Canada (POC), and most have achieved their Trained Professional Organizer (TPO) status, with newer members working towards it. Elaine Jermy, Owner of Organized Solutions, is one of Canada’s first Professional Organizers and a Founder of Professional Organizers in Canada (POC). As a pioneer in the field of organizing in Canada, Elaine has trained many of the Professional Organizers operating in the Hamilton-Burlington area, and has been in the professional organizing business for more than 25 years.
Although there are no official credentials required to become a Professional Organizer, a strong understanding of organizing principles, products and services – as well as excellent organizational skills – is essential. While Canada does not have a formal certification program, Professional Organizers in Canada offer a Trained Professional Organizer program to provide the most robust training in this profession. Many organizers belong to Professional Organizers in Canada (POC) and follow the association’s Code of Conduct & Ethics. Some organizers may have obtained the globally recognized Certified Professional Organizer (CPO) designation through The Board of Certified Professional Organizers.
To choose the right Professional Organizer, start by asking friends and family for recommendations or searching online for “organizers near me.” Look for someone with the right expertise, background, and skills, but also consider their personality and communication style during your initial conversation to ensure a good fit. A great organizer will actively listen, understand your needs, and create a sustainable system that works for you. It’s a good idea to speak with two or three organizers before deciding, keeping in mind that while preliminary calls are usually free, some may charge for on-site consultations.
Time & Commitment
Yes! A Professional Organizer can help you create functional systems tailored to you and your family, making it easier to maintain an organized space long-term. Staying organized is an ongoing process, and we recommend seasonal maintenance sessions to help with transitions like back-to-school, wardrobe rotations and holiday preparation. Depending on your needs, regular refresh sessions of any frequency can keep your space in order and adapt systems as life changes. Whenever you need extra support, we’re just a phone call away!
You are the primary decision-maker. As such, you will need to be present during the initial assessment and available throughout the organizing project. Once we identify your priorities and develop an action plan, we can implement it with minimal direction. With clear direction and detailed instructions, we can declutter and organize most areas without you being physically present. If we are not sure, we will set aside items for your review or text you photos throughout the day. We will never remove or dispose of items without your approval.
The time it takes to finish the organizing process depends on a number of variables including: the level of accumulation, the size of the space, how quickly you make decisions and how much “homework” is completed between sessions. We typically book half-day or full-day sessions with you, depending on your goals. Often, clients book weekly sessions to ensure that momentum is not lost. For large projects or those with tight deadlines, we can quickly assemble a team.
